Each day I sit at my desk and scroll through my podcast app trying to decide which episode and show I should listen to next. Podcasts, and specifically history podcasts, are what keep me entertained on a day-to-day basis. When I refresh my app to bring in newly released episodes I always stop to wonder what I would do if every single show in my app came back with a notification of a new episode. My 42 Favorite Ongoing History Podcasts

Each morning as I prepare to take my dog for a walk I refresh my podcast app in order to see if any of my many subscriptions have published a new episode. In the few moments it takes to refresh I sometimes imagine what I would do if every single ongoing history podcast that I follow were to have published an episode at the same time. So far that has never happened, but nonetheless, the moment brings up a great question. If every podcast I follow had a new episode, which episode would I listen to first? I have decided to explore this question by making a list of my 42 favorite history podcasts ordered from which show I would listen to last to which show I would listen to first. New to Me, New to You? - Ten History Podcasts I Recommend to You

One of my favorite things I have experienced since I started my podcast (The Why Is That Podcast) and launched this companion website is the interaction with the history podcast community. I recently shared my recommendations for my  42 Favorite History Podcasts and 10 History Podcasts Launched in 2017 . After posting those on my site and sharing them on Reddit, Facebook and Twitter I received a lot of recommendations for other podcasts in which to listen. In my opinion the best podcasts are the ones who inspire their listeners to suggest them so I took the time to listen to each new recommendation. I will admit I have not caught up on all of them, but I have created a list of ten of them that have become regular members of my podcast playlist and I wanted to repay the creator’s hard work by recommending them to you.
