On June 14, 1777 the Second Continental Congress of the United States of America adopted the Stars and Stripes as the flag of the nation. In this episode of the Why Is That Podcast we will discuss why it is that flags hold such a unique status as a symbol of a nation. We will discuss some of the flags and symbols of ancient civilizations before exploring the history of the Danish flag to discover our answer.
